Dr. Jeffrey Courville
Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Jeff Courville (Dr. Jeff) graduated in 1993 with a Bachelors Degree in Biology (Ecology/Zoology) from Juniata College and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tutfs University in 1997. Dr. Jeff moved to North Carolina in 1999 and is a former veterinarian of the Guilford County Animal Shelter and Lawndale Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Jeff is also a former Vice-President of the Humane Society of Guilford County and opened the Piedmont Communities Spay Neuter and Wellness Clinic in 2001. Dr Jeff was also a mentor for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greensboro.

Dr. Jeff will tell you his life was changed by the 4 months he worked at the animal shelter having to euthanize over 100 animals a day. Since that time Dr Jeff has dedicated his life towards putting an end to pet overpopulation and teaching people about responsible pet ownership. Dr. Jeff has been outspoken about animal welfare topics and has tried to educate the youth of Guilford County about responsible pet ownership; however the Clinic has been his main focus to achieving his goals.

Dr. Jeff enjoys being with his family and coaching soccer in his spare time. He now lives in Dayton, OH with his wife Robin (also a vet), son Jackson, daughter Ally, dog Charlie and cat Mattie.

Lindsey Costello
Practice Manager

Lindsey was born and raised here in Greensboro. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from High Point University in 2004. Lindsey has been working in the animal field since she was 15 years old. She started at All Pets Considered, then to Adams Farm Animal Hospital before coming to the Clinic in 2003. She is also former Vice President of North Carolina Boxer Rescue. She came to the Clinic wanting to make a difference for the animals of this community.

Lindsey lives with her husband, Bobby, and son, Logan. They have a terrier mix, Ellie, and 2 cats, Nyla & Pidge. In her small amount of spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and bowling. She is also a huge East Carolina fan.

Timothy Simmons
Veterinary Assistant

Tim was born and raised in Fairmont, NC. After high school, he went directly into being an Animal Welfare Technician at Murphy Brown/Smithfield Farms. After moving to this area in 2016, Tim started working at the Guilford County Animal Shelter before joining our team in the summer of 2017. He has really found his passion in Veterinary Medicine and is now pursuing an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology and becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician.

In his spare time, Tim enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, playing video games, and making YouTube videos.

Darren Davis
Veterinary Assistant

Darren was born and raised in the Charlotte area. He received is Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Science in the winter of 2017 from NC A&T State University. He is now pursuing veterinary school with a focus on large animal medicine. Darren did a 6 month internship at Brown Creek Animal Hospital in Polkton, NC in 2012. He also did 2 years of research at NC State’s Poultry Farm. Darren joined our team in June, 2018.
In his spare time, Darren enjoys cooking, writing poetry and music, and traveling

Emily Tucker
Veterinary Assistant

Emily grew up in Louisiana. She started her career in Veterinary Medicine as a kennel assistant in 2014. She moved up to Veterinary Assistant in 2020. She also has worked a lot with rescue groups rescuing and fostering animals. After moving to the Greensboro area, she joined the Clinic in the spring of 2021.

She lives with her fiance, Devin, and 5 rescue dogs. In her spare time she likes to play Dungeons and Dragons and planning her wedding.

Margarita Martinez
Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

Margarita was born and raised in Saint Paul, NC. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Science in the spring of 2018 from NC A&T State University. She is now pursuing a masters degree in Integrated Animal Health from NC A&T State University then hopes to attend Veterinary School, specializing in Pathology or Surgery. She has worked at both Vetco and Americana Animal Hospital before joining our team in the winter of 2021.

Margarita live with her 4 cats and is fluent in Spanish. In her spare time, she likes going to the beach or hiking in the mountains.

Poppy The Clinic Pup

Poppy was born July, 2021. When she came into the Clinic for her first vaccines, Margarita fell in love with her and took her home that day. Quickly after that, she became the Clinic pup. She now spends her days going to community events, doing photo shoots, making TikTok videos, putting Facebooks post together, making everyone do everything for her, bossing everyone around, and mostly sleeping while everyone else works. Let’s be honest…she’s the real boss around here!

Poppy lives with her Mommy and 4 feline siblings. In her spare time, she loves to eat, sleep, play, and torment her siblings.
